About Mattioli Microdermabrasion Systems:

The Ultrapeel systems are covered by the International Patent #US 5.180.842 and were FDA cleared in December, 1996. They also are CE marked.

The Microdermabrasion system was designed by Mattioli Engineering of Florence, Italy. Based on innovative design and invaluable experience gained over 20 years, the system can offer therapy to achieve a smooth, glowing skin for everyone.

The Ultrapeel Mattioli Engineering systems are available in the following areas: Europe, Canada, Mexico, South America, South Africa, Middle East most of the Far East and the USA. Saratoga Diagnostic is consistently the leading distributor for Mattioli in the States.

New exciting technology in skin resurfacing produces unsurpassed results for the medical and esthetic professional. Ultrapeel is a non-surgical, non-evasive system that offers safe and controlled skin abrasion with no risk of contamination's.

These innovative dermabraders utilize inert microcrystals which are propelled at high speed across the skins surface to abrade the skins tissues, and the resulting debris are vacuumed into a waste bottle which can be disposed of. This technique is very quick, relatively painless, and the results are immediately seen with high levels of patient/client satisfaction. There is no "downtime" and this procedure can be used as an alternative treatment to chemical peels as there are very few contraindications or side effects.

What Makes Mattioli Microdermabrasion Systems Different?
As we have mentioned Ultrapeel® Microdermabrasion Systems offer several unique features to ensure the safest, most effective skin care treatment available.

Patented Delivery Kit system

Mattioli’s Engineering’s unique delivery kit is completely disposable and separate from the body of the dermabrader. This makes part replacement and machine clean up easy and thorough. It contains

  • Plastic mixing bottles containing sterilized corundum powder. Other Microdermabrasion Systems require the machine operator to refill the powder chamber; with Mattioli’s unique pre-filled, disposable bottles there is no need for to handle loose corundum powder. This makes the machine easier and more convenient to use and also eliminates the dangers associated with handling and contaminating sterilized corundum powder.
  • Plastic collecting bottles. This sealed waste container is also unique to Mattioli Engineering’s Microdermabrasion Systems. Following the procedure, the used micro-crystals are vacuumed into a disposable, sealed container. This is fundamental for the safety of the operator and the client; it ensures that the powder is never used in more than one procedure and greatly reduces the time and handling involved in machine clean up.
  • Bottle dimensions and crystal suction power: Power and microdermabrasion efficiency are strictly correlated. Power is a function of dimension of the bottles. As the air is vacuumed from the collecting bottle to drain some cleaned crystal for creating abrasion, dimension of the empty area of the bottle is critical. The bigger collecting bottle we have the more time is spent to vacuum it and the less crystal suction power we got back. Optimising bottles dimensions is essential to a microdermabrader and it allows them to get the maximum power for the maximum abrasion efficiency. So the bigger collecting bottle I have the least suction power I have.

Patented 45 degree hand pieces

Mattioli Engineering’s internationally patented 45 degree hand pieces allow the corundum powder to contact the tissues with the most effective combination of contact angle, quantity of powder and vacuum strength. The 90 degree hand pieces used in other systems can allow an excessive amount of corundum powder to come in contact with the skin making the procedure more painful, too aggressive and more difficult for the machine operator to control. Our 45 degree tips are also disposable and individually packaged allowing for a long-lasting sterilization. They are designed to be changed after each procedure ensuring the most sterile treatment and the highest level of patient care.

One-way flow of crystals

Other microdermabrasion systems require the micro-crystals to reverse flow within the delivery system, generally during clean up. As a result of the Ultrapeel® Microdermabrasion Systems’ disposable delivery kit and closed-loop vacuum circuit, micro-crystals only flow in one direction and are collected into a sealed, disposable bottle.

Gamma-ray sterilized corundum powder

Corundum is one of the strongest and most abrasive minerals in the world. The medical-grade corundum powder used with Ultrapeel® Systems is an inert, biocompatible compound—consisting primarily of Corundum and Alluvium Oxide—that is gamma ray sterilized for the highest level of purity and quality. Aluminium Oxide has been used in orthopaedics and dentistry for several years because it is not water or plasma soluble and it cannot ionise other chemical materials.
